Keep Score

keep score card

Welcome to Keep Score

Keep Score is a game most of us are already playing.  We always think we're right.  But we're not.

Rules

The rules are simple!  Keep a few business card sized playing cards in your pocket, purse, sock, etc.  When a disagreement over anything comes up (that can be proved) take out a card and challenge the other person.  You both write down what you think is true, create stakes (they can be different for each person), then look it up in whatever manner satisfies the both of you.

Then the winner keeps the card until the stakes have been paid off.

In a tie we suggest letting it go (but you could pay up anyway).

Example

Player 1 Claims : Kevin Costner helped to direct Waterworld.

Player A Claims: No, he didn't, he just acted in it.

Stakes: Loser must watch Waterworld

Then IMDB it, search around... etc.

Then someone is watching Waterworld.

Questionnaire

We are a research group and this game is designed to be fun, yes, but also to test out some concepts about gamification and games in general.

If you have played the game and would like to participate in our anonymous questionnaire to help us understand some things about gaming, we would appreciate that. At the end of the questionnaire there will be some more information about the theories behind the game.

Please leave us your feedback and thank you for playing and visiting!

Please fill out our questionnaire and help us make a better game

Get the Game

If you would like to play the game you have three options.

1) Download the game here for printing.  We've provided some pdf's for downloading and you can print out your own cards for non-commercial use.  We've included front and back both with crop marks and without suitable for home use or quick-printing.  The instructions on the back aren't usually necessary but they're here if you want them.  The files are below:

WITH CROPS: front - back

NO CROPS: front - back

2) We'll send you some cards for free.  Just give us your address on the form here.  Use the Keep Score category and we'll send you 10 cards in the mail.  Neat.

3) Carry a pen and paper with you and start writing when you want to play!  We find it's easier to have a "card" but just writing it down on a napkin works too...

We hope you like this silly game and we'd like to hear any comments or questions too.
